Parking & Transport
We advocate the use of public transport, cycling and car sharing to reduce the demand for parking. Pay and display parking is available Nether End (DE45 1SR) as is on-street parking throughout the village.
Public Transport
FROM SHEFFIELD: Catch the 8:30 218 Bus from Sheffield Interchange. Get off at Baslow Nether End next to "Sweet Gene's" at 9:09.
FROM BAKEWELL: Catch the 9:10 218 Bus from Rutland Square. Get off at Baslow Nether End at 9:22, next to triangular green and make your way promptly to registration at the School and the race start at the Church.
Buses back to Sheffield / Bakewell typically operate at 1/2 hr intervals.

Parking
If you are driving, there is a public pay & display car park in Nether End, Baslow (DE45 1SS), which is about a 5 minutes walk from the race registration. Otherwise, there is on-street car parking available in the village. Please park considerately for other road users and residents. Please note that the Chatsworth Christmas market will also be taking place on this day, so parking may be difficult. We recommend arriving in the village in plenty of time to park and register for the race. It is likely that traffic wardens will be in the village on the morning of the race given this and the Christmas market. There will be ‘Access Only’ signs at the entrance to residential roads in the village on Saturday to deter entry for those aiming to park in the village and walk to the Chatsworth Christmas market. Given that the Bolt is a Baslow village event, these signs are not meant to deter entry for those running the Bolt.
We have also kindly been offered the use of the Baslow Bowls Club car park (turn down towards the Baslow Caravan park, and the Bowls Club is clearly marked on the left, opposite the tennis courts).
In addition, the Wheatsheaf Hotel have very kindly offered the use of their car park on the morning of the race. If you take up this offer, please vacate the car park by 12.00 to allow room for customers. Of course - if you use this car park why not stay for a tasty post race lunch or refreshing drink!
